Kapo Clothing
"Hopeful Skeptics Since 1981"

Kapo Clothing was born in 2006 in the bedroom of designer/director/musician Victor Lau. This clothing line appears as another one of Lau’s many creative pursuits. What started with just a couple of ideas and some silkscreen classes it’s now on it’s way to become an internationally recognized brand. Known for it’s highly conceptualized artwork, Peruvian cotton fabrics, and distinguished silhouettes. Kapo is a mix of Peruvian and immigrant sensibilities coupled with a real sense of quality. All the designs are inspired and influenced by travel, music, art, and all things creative. It is a line specifically designed for independent thinkers who follow their own path in life and for those comfortable enough to express their individuality through the way they dress.

The brand is a reflection of Lau’s multi cultural upbringing. Growing up in both Peru and New York has really shaped his visual style. And it is with this duality that the designs have come about. The “2011″ first run of 6 designs are primarily focused on Peruvian and immigrant concepts the next round of “2012″ designs will be all concepts that draw from the great city of New York and it’s everyday life.
